Hi again! I apologise for the extremely long delay, but I really, really had no choice. I had so many tests crammed into the past week, and just finished my Science practical today. Very very sorry!
Now that the apologies are done with, let's start off this post with my description of today's killer practical. Firstly, the spatula for scooping some unknown black-ish powder came late, so coupled with my horrible aiming skills, fell right onto my test paper. Which happened to be white. So. But before I move on to my next complaint, let me clarify something. Ammonium salt releases ammonia upon heating, right? Horrible, terrible me with no common sense decided to take a whiff of the gas from the heated solid, ammonium salt. For all you readers out there, let me tell you this: Do Not Follow In My Footsteps!!! (Or you shall perish from the sheer pungency of it)
I digress. Thirdly, and fortunately, lastly, the test for glucose. You know that you are supposed to pour an equal amount of the Benedict's solution and the unknown substance. But no. Little me poured the entire bottle of the unknown sample, together with a few drops of the Benedict's solution. No colour change in the water bath. Miraculously, the minute I took the test tubes out, it started changing colour, which shows that Fate is fickle.

Since you've been such good, patient readers, I am delighted to announce that I shall be posting 2 poems today! Yay!
The first poem is one I wrote before Debate yesterday, on the 24/7.
The second one was written ~2 weeks ago during Art, before the famed Excel Fest.
Enjoy!

Terminated
Today when I woke up, the sky was blue.
It wasn’t a light, sapphire blue,
nor was it a deep, melancholic blue.
It was the kind of blue that made you want to think, forever.
And so I thought and thought.
I turned mountains into the bluest of blues,
and shaped petals into blues.
I thought up seas and seas of blue thoughts,
accompanied by blue whales, sea-deep seashells,
wavy palms, and fluffy white clouds,
their light-hearted airiness hanging distractedly about them today.
I admired the horizon, then thought myself a shimmering bluebird
and plunged recklessly into
seas.
Unable to swim, I flailed myself wildly around, as though
looking for a lifeguard.
But there were none.
So I drowned in an eternity of cries, pleas and blue worlds.

Artful Aesthetics-For Lynette Lim, for sharing my sentiments on the double period Art. :)
Stuck in Art class
like ice in a glass
watching the clock tick away
and the distant whir of the ceiling fans overhead.
‘Priceless’ paintings and random artwork
proudly plaster the pristine walls
while pottery and handcrafts
cake the outside door.
Students rushing hurriedly about
their shoes utter a slight shuffling sound.
I look on, fascinated,
at the things they do
as they sacrifice precious time
For CIP hours.
Chatter chatter the class won’t keep silent.
High heels resonate on the tiled, ceramic floor.
“Quickly quickly she’s here!”
All of a sudden an unnatural hush
seeps eerily into the air
Waiting.
Waiting.
Just waiting.
And then the teacher arrives,
cloaked in all the resplendent glory
of her leopard-print shirt.
