Happy happy everyone! XD
Tomorrow, there is no school! Yes! Means can sleep in late!
*Ahem*
Back to the post...
Ok, I really apologize for the lack of updates these few days. As you can see, I've listed part of the reason above. Sloth. According to Wikipedia:
Sloth (Latin, acedia)
Main articles: Sloth (laziness, sadness, apathy)
More than other sins, the definition of Sloth has changed considerably since its original inclusion among the seven deadly sins. It had been in the early years of Christianity characterized by what modern writers would now describe as apathy, depression, and joylessness — the last being viewed as being a refusal to enjoy the goodness of God and the world He created. Originally, its place was fulfilled by two other aspects, Acedia and Sadness. The former described a spiritual apathy that affected the faithful by discouraging them from their religious work. Sadness (tristitia in Latin) described a feeling of dissatisfaction or discontent, which caused unhappiness with one's current situation.
When St. Thomas Aquinas selected Acedia for his list, he described it as an "uneasiness of the mind," being a progenitor for lesser sins such as restlessness and instability. Dante refined this definition further, describing Sloth as being the "failure to love God with all one's heart, all one's mind and all one's soul." He also described it as the middle sin, and as such was the only sin characterised by an absence or insufficiency of love. In his Purgatorio, the slothful penitents were made to run continuously at top speed.
The modern view of the vice, as highlighted by its contrary virtue zeal/diligence, is that it represents the failure to utilize one's talents and gifts. For example, a student who does not work beyond what is required (and thus fails to achieve his or her full potential) could be labelled 'slothful'.
Current interpretations are therefore much less stringent and comprehensive than they were in medieval times, and portray Sloth as being more simply a sin of laziness, of an unwillingness to act, an unwillingness to care (rather than a failure to love God and His works). For this reason Sloth is now often seen as being considerably less serious than the other sins.
Just read the last part... So this means I'm excused? Hopefully =)
Tomorrow will be the day I bravely step up to a microphone and recite 2 pieces of poetry to 5000+ teachers and guests, from 12.15-1.45. Repeat procedure from 4.45-5.15, except it's for VIPs. Think I've already mooned about that.
Today, I came home from school the usual way, thinking about how lucky I am to be alive. Then the first thing I see when I open the door is a dead lizard floating in my fish tank.
Accompanied by my crimson fighting fish, who seems proud of it's feat. I make a mental note never to stick my finger in the water again.

"You tripped me, so I fell for you."

“Because I Don’t Want To Say…”
You just stand there and wave.
Just a little longer, I tell myself
Just a little longer before I can break down and cry.
I don’t want to say I won’t.
Until then.
I stand tall, looking as if nothing ever happened.
I stand proud, facing the untold future courageously.
Because I don’t want to say I’m weak.
The skies cloud.
Now you really are leaving
Leaving Home, Leaving Me.
and I really want to sob my broken heart out.
But I don’t want to say I’m afraid.
So I guess I have to be strong.
For Them, For You.
Wordlessly, almost inconspicuously
I make my gradual retreat into what was Sanctuary.
Then I give in and whimper, silently.
I really don’t want to say, “farewell”.

from time to time, we must allow ourselves the pleasure of being lazy...afterall, while we must take life seriously, we must not take ourselves too seriously...let our hair down once in a while
